Minister, Teacher, Spiritual Navigator, & Zoom Host:

Rev. Jeanne Loveless

Rev. Jeanne has served the United Church of Hayward since 2012. She came as our Interim/Transitional Minister and helped us realize that God was calling us to something deeper and wider. So, we invited her for a longer stay!

Rev. Jeanne is a gifted preacher, spiritual leader, storyteller, and educator. She understands the movement of Holy Spirit energy and brings her extensive knowledge of Internal and External Family Systems Theory and Jungian Depth Psychology to her work. She is well-versed in Christian mysticism, western esotericism, Christian spirituality, literature and literary theory, biblical hermeneutics, current events, and the history of Christianity, which makes her sermons and podcasts, our Transitions Group, book groups, and our Scripture Seekers Bible Studies very lively and thought-provoking. She challenges us and inspires theological reflection and critical thinking, spiritual inquiry, and community building. Most importantly, she equips us to stand in our values and the values of Jesus Christ as we live into our call to be faith leaders, community transformers, and justice seekers in South Hayward and in the 21st Century United States.

Rev. Jeanne continues to lead UCH in a process of growth, discernment, revitalization, and possibility. With her wisdom, we are becoming a healthier, spiritually-vibrant, hybrid community of faith. With her leadership, we navigated the crisis of the pandemic, sold our church property, and embraced online ministry, live-streaming, podcasting, and Zoom as key tools of evangelism, teaching, community building, and justice seeking.

Rev. Jeanne enjoys photography, flea-marketing/antiquing, writing, fly fishing, hiking, traveling to Earth's sacred sites, and playing the organ really loud. She’s a mom, partner, spiritual seeker, energy navigator, gardener, and lover of classical and classic rock music and good books who resides with her family in the Bay area.
