Rev. Jeanne Loveless waving in greeting

Minister, Teacher, Spiritual Navigator, & Zoom Host:

Rev. Jeanne Loveless

The Rev. Jeanne Loveless has served United Church of Hayward since Palm Sunday, 2012. She came to UCH as our Interim/Transitional Minister, and helped us realize that God was calling us to something deeper and wider.  So we invited her for a longer stay! Rev. Jeanne continues to lead UCH in a process of growth, discernment, revitalization, and possibility. With her wisdom and leadership we are becoming a healthier, forward looking, spiritually vibrant hybrid community of faith. With her integral leadership we have navigated the crisis of the pandemic and embraced online ministry and Zoom as key tools of outreach, gathering, and teaching in our Beloved Community.

Rev. Jeanne is a gifted preacher, spiritual leader, storyteller, and educator. With over 20 years of pastoral experience, she understands the movement of Human and Holy Spirit energy in congregations and brings her extensive knowledge of Internal and External Family Systems Theory and Jungian Depth Psychology to her work. She is well versed in Christian Mysticism and Christian Spirituality, Literature and Literary Theory, Biblical Hermeneutics, Current Events, and the History of Christianity which makes her sermons, our Transitions group, book groups, and our “Scripture Seekers” Bible Studies very lively and thought provoking.  Rev. Jeanne challenges us, and inspires theological reflection and critical thinking, spiritual inquiry, and community building. Most importantly she equips us to stand in our values, and the values of the Kindom of God as we live into our call to be faith leaders, community transformers, and justice seekers in South Hayward and in the 21st Century US.

Rev. Jeanne is a graduate of the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology/Sofia University (M.A. Transpersonal Psychology), and Pacific School of Religion (M.Div. Christian Spirituality and Congregational Leadership/Congregational Systems). She holds Ordained Ministerial Partnership Standing in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Northern California/Nevada Region, and in the Northern California Nevada Conference of the United Church of Christ. Rev. Jeanne has extensive training and experience in practicing anti-racism, transitional ministry, (Interim Ministry Network, Alban Institute), and congregational conflict resolution (Lombard Mennonite Peace Center). She is a level IV/V Master Teacher in the Usui/Takata/Ishikuro Reiki Lineage, Spiritual Director and Navigator with clients in private practice (Mercy Center and Quantum Union) and Professional Member of Spiritual Directors International. She enjoys writing, photography, flea-marketing/antiquing, fly and spin fishing, hiking, dowsing, traveling to Earth's sacred sites, and playing the organ really loud.  She is a mom, spiritual seeker, lightworker, energy navigator, gardener, low-carb cook, and lover of classical and classic rock music and good books who resides with her family in the San Francisco/Bay area.
